Qliphoth Meltdown and Qliphoth Overload example

Qliphoth Meltdowns or Qliphoth Meltdown Levels, are a game mechanic that is linked to the amount of works performed during the Management Phase. This is contained and divided in 3 parts, that are present during the entire process of the Management Phase.

The UI for this mechanic can be seen at the top left corner of the screen, with the Level being in roman numerals, the gauge at the middle, and the effects that are going to occur appear in the right. It will show numbers in case of QliphothMeltdownIcon Qliphoth Meltdowns or an Ordeal type, with a color that determine which Ordeal is going to appear.

Effects[]

The Qliphoth Meltdown Level determines the number of QliphothMeltdownIcon Qliphoth Meltdowns to apply in the facility or what type of Ordeal to summon. The Level starts at Level 1, and can increase to a maximum of 10. Beyond Level 10, the level will begin to loop at that level, applying the same number of Qliphoth Meltdowns at the end of each Level and no longer spawning Ordeals.

The Qliphoth Meltdown Gauge is a gauge that counts the number of works started in the facility. When a work is started on a non-Tool Abnormality that is not undergoing a Qliphoth Meltdown, the gauge will increase by 1. After a certain number of works, upon filling the entire gauge, a Qliphoth Meltdown will occur and the Qliphoth Meltdown Level will be increased by 1.

An effect will be triggered on the facility, either applying QliphothMeltdownIcon Qliphoth Meltdowns to Abnormalities or summoning Ordeals. The maximum number of works required to fill the gauge will increase as more days pass, and only 1 of each type of Ordeal will occur per day, under the following conditions: Dawn Ordeals can spawn from Day 6 onwards, Noon Ordeals from Day 11 onwards (with the exception of Indigo Noon), Dusk Ordeals from Day 21 onwards and Midnight Ordeals plus Indigo Noon from Day 26 onwards.

Qliphoth Meltdowns explained in the Manual

The QliphothMeltdownIcon Qliphoth Meltdown is a containment effect that is applied during the increase of the Qliphoth Meltdown Level. When a number appears on the side of the gauge, that is the amount of Meltdowns that are going to occur. During the trigger, a number of random containment units in the facility will receive the QliphothMeltdownIcon Qliphoth Meltdown, with an alarm sound. A warning effect will be visible around the containment unit and a timer will appear above it, with a bar decreasing over 60 seconds (which changes upon recieving the TipherethArmband Central Command Clerk Benefit), that once being depleted, it will subtract an amount of energy proportional to the current QliphothMeltdownIcon Qliphoth Meltdown Level (5 times the Level) from the energy quota and fully deplete the QliphothCounterIcon Qliphoth Counter of the Abnormality, if it has one.

Qliphoth Meltdowns are removed once an employee enters the containment unit. If the containment unit affected by the QliphothMeltdownIcon Qliphoth Meltdown already has an Agent within it or during the period of time where an Abnormality cannot be worked after having just completed a work on it, the timer will be paused until these conditions no longer apply. Qliphoth Meltdowns will not affect empty Tool containment units, containment units with breaching Abnormalities and departments with immunity to the meltdowns. The amount of QliphothMeltdownIcon Qliphoth Meltdowns will increase with every Qliphoth Meltdown Level, and the amount spawned is proportional to the number of containment units in the facility.

Qliphoth Overload[]

Qliphoth Overload explained in the Manual

Qliphoth Overload is a containment effect that occurs upon finishing a work with a non-Tool Risk Waw WAW or Risk Aleph ALEPH Abnormality. It will decrease the WorkSuccessIcon Success Rate of that Abnormality's next works by a percentage (4% for Risk Waw WAW. 6% for Risk Aleph ALEPH), that can stack a number of times (Max 32% for Risk Waw WAW, after 8 works, Max 30% for Risk Aleph ALEPH, after 6 works). The Qliphoth Overload will reset to 0 upon reaching the next Qliphoth Meltdown Level.

If all Agents in a department die, all Clerks in the Department will commit suicide, and every Abnormality in the Department will have their Success Rate decreased by 50% WorkSuccessIcon until the end of the day.

External Effects[]

Other methods can change these effects throughout the run. These are from other sources that can be obtained during the game and might occur in different scenarios.

  • Sephirah Meltdown: When suppressing a Sephirah Meltdown, the player gains an immunity against QliphothMeltdownIcon Qliphoth Meltdowns for the respective department. This is a permanent feature that make the number of QliphothMeltdownIcon Qliphoth Meltdowns able to occur decrease, due to decreasing the number of containment units available to be affected by it. In some occasions this feature is only temporarily removed, like in Apocalypse Bird's event, Tiphereth Meltdown, Hokma Meltdown, Binah Meltdown, and from Day 46 and onward. However, they will not set the correct amount of QliphothMeltdownIcon Qliphoth Meltdown's to appear.
  • Challenge Mode removes the QliphothMeltdownIcon Qliphoth Meltdown Immunity reward from Sephirah Meltdowns and sets the correct amount of QliphothMeltdownIcon Qliphoth Meltdowns to appear.
  • TipherethArmband Central Command Office Worker effect: Increase the timer of QliphothMeltdownIcon Qliphoth Meltdowns by a couple of seconds, giving the player more time to react and reach the affected containment units.

Trivia[]

  • We Can Change Anything, Backward Clock and Don't Touch Me are the only Abnormalities that possess self-immunity against QliphothMeltdownIcon Qliphoth Meltdowns. As such, these three Abnormalities aren't affected by the removal of QliphothMeltdownIcon Qliphoth Meltdowns.
  • Big Bird is unintendedly unaffected by QliphothMeltdownIcon Qliphoth Meltdowns due to its "Max Work Count" (a mechanic from V0.1 to V0.2) being set to 0.
